The film was written and directed by Sam Grierson, a UK-based writer and director known for exploring themes of identity, neurodivergence, and social change in their work.

 

Why write The Pause

Sam Grierson wrote The Pause specifically for Suzy Bloom, inspired by their earlier collaboration on Sam’s audio play How to Drop a Piano, where Suzy appeared as an actor. Struck by her performance, Sam crafted the film with Suzy in mind from the outset.
